Notify command#
Usage:
zyn notify [--no-input]
zyn notify [--no-input] NAME [field=value ...]
List notifications or send one using the development profile.
Example:
zyn notify
Documentation: zyn docs cli/notify
zyn notify executes one registered notification immediately with the development database, credential profile, and email transport. It runs the registered handler, including its database reads, preference checks, template rendering, and delivery options. Capture and SMTP behavior therefore match application delivery under the development profile.
Arguments correspond to the fields of the handler's Args struct:
$ zyn notify welcome user_id=42
sent welcome
notification: 01a0bf8c-931a-781f-835e-44ebe11f0744
delivery: 01a0bf8c-931a-7850-8138-126ce6b209e0
capture: .zyn/emails/01a0bf8c931a78508138126ce6b209e0.eml
String, numeric, Boolean, optional, and enum fields are parsed according to their Zig types. A structured field accepts JSON for that field's value. The exact value null clears an optional field; a quoted JSON string represents the literal string null. Unknown, duplicate, missing, and invalid fields are rejected. Fields with defaults may be omitted; omitted optional fields are null.
When a required field is missing in an interactive terminal, Zyn prompts for it and repeats invalid prompts. With no notification name, one registered notification is selected automatically and multiple registrations produce a numbered picker. Non-interactive use with multiple registrations requires a name, and every non-interactive call requires all mandatory fields.
A handler that returns without calling email reports skipped. Recorded handler, rendering, or transport failures report failed and the stored error. The command exits unsuccessfully for a failed delivery.
The command starts bundled PostgreSQL when necessary and stops it afterward. An already running development server is left running. The HTTP server and background worker are not started. Use zyn db migrate before the command when the framework schema is absent or outdated. --no-input disables the notification picker. When multiple notifications are registered, supply the name explicitly (zyn notify --no-input NAME ...); otherwise the command fails with a remedy. A single registered notification continues to be selected without a prompt.
